Krug Named Vice President for Senior Diving

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania, February 7. – UNIVERSITY of Pittsburgh Assistant Head Coach for Diving Julian Krug was elected by the U.S. Diving Board of Directors to the position of Vice President for Senior Diving, announced earlier this year.

“I am honored to take this position and to take on the challenge that the position entitles,” Krug said.

A position formerly held by Jason Bauman, the University of Minnesota diving coach, Krug will hold the position of Vice President through September of 2006. Krug has been a representative on the board of trustees for four different two-year terms and has coached numerous senior international teams abroad, including Spain, Italy, Canada and Mexico.

Krug is in the midst of his 27th year as Pitt’s diving coach. During his tenure, he has been named the Big East Men’s Diving Coach of the Year four times, with his most recent honor in 2005. He has also produced six All-Americans and eight honorable mention All-Americans.
