Kowal Takes 200 Breast in Another Am. Record

Kowal did it again, with new AR of 2:22.05 – but it wasn't a blowout. Staciana Stitts of Cal took the early lead – ahead of WR pace. Kowal took over the lead by the 100 and started to pullaway, but Arizona's Amanda Beard is know for her amazing back-half racing and she didn't disappoint. Beard came roaring back to pass Stitts and nearly catch Kowal. She still came up a bit short though to finish in 2:22.84. Stitts hung on for 3rd (2:25.02), Katie Hathaway of N. Carolina was 4th (2:26.91), Elli Overton of Cal 5th (2:27.88), Amy Balcerzak from Northwestern 7th (2:28.68), and rounding the top 8 was Sarah Chandler of SMU (2:29.12)
