Koselka Nabs National Cut in 200 Free at Bloomington Speedo Champions Series Sectional

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., July 27. LIZ Koselka of Club Wolverine cruised to victory in the 200-meter freestyle with a national-cut time of 2:04.23 at the Bloomington Speedo Champions Series Sectional held at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center on the campus of Indiana University.

Not only did the clocking surpass the national cut in the event, it cleared Koselka’s preliminary time by nearly three seconds.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati Marlin Ashlee Edgell touched out Mason Manta Ray Amanda Smith in the 400-meter IM as Edgell clocked a gold-winning 4:59.35 against Smith’s second-place 4:59.58.

In other action, Oakland Live Y’er Chris Dukatz faced a battle of his own in the 200-meter freestyle with a slim triumph over Kyle Greene. Dukatz recorded a 1:55.67, while Greene came in at 1:55.85.

The Marlins claimed another title as Matt Angelini pocketed gold in 4:36.08 in the 400-meter IM, while teammate David Mosko took second in 4:39.43.

Next up, swimmers compete in the 100 backstroke, 400 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and the 100 butterfly on Friday.
