Kevin Zacher Named Head Coach of Scottsdale Aquatic Club; Rob Blundell Added as Age Group Coach

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, September 5. RECENTLY, the Scottsdale Aquatic Club (SAC) announced the promotion of Kevin Zacher as its new head coach, replacing Jerry Olszewski. Olszewski recently left SAC to create a new club in Scottsdale called La Camarilla Swim Club. Meanwhile, SAC added Rob Blundell from England as a new age group coach.

Zacher has been with SAC for five years, and has been named the Arizona Age Group Coach of the Year by the American Swimming Coaches Association in 2007. Zacher has also coached numerous swimmers to Top 16 spots in their respective age groups, and several swimmers to the Junior National and National levels. Prior to joining SAC, Zacher served as the head age group coach at KING Aquatics in Federal Way, Wash. He graduated from Iowa State in 1998 and swam for ISU all four years and finished as the school-record holder in the 400 IM.

Blundell comes to SAC after previously serving as the head coach of the City of Peterborough Swimming Club in England for two years. Prior to Peterborough, Blundell serves as the head age group coach at the University of East Anglia in the City of Norwich. Blundell has also coached at Stockport Metro, after assisting Pierre Lafontaine at the Phoenix Swim Club from 2001-02.
