Kenisha Liu Closes Roseville Sectionals with Another Victory

Kenisha Liu won her fourth event this weekend at the Roseville Sectionals, stopping the clock in 2:15.91 to win the women’s 200 IM. Her Brea Aquatics teammate Alexis Margett was third in 2:19.82. Marin Pirates’ Riley Scott was runner up in 2:19.07.

Liu was back on the podium in the next event, touching second in 26.41 in the 50 freestyle. Davis Arden Racing Team’s Amalie Fackenthal was well ahead in that event, claiming gold in 25.94. Quicksilver’s Lauren Green placed third in 26.61.

De Anza Cupertino Aquatics’ Shayne Fleming sprinted to 50 free victory with his 23.07, ahead of Tiger Aquatics’ Dylan Toy (23.79) and Dong Kim (23.88).

Daniel Comforti of Brentwood Seawolves took 200 IM gold in 2:07.00. Brea’s Michael Tenney battled Javier Bernal of Riverside Aquatics for second, as the two touched in 2:08.59 and 2:08.88.

David Arden’s Chenoa Devine was the only swimmer under nine minutes in the women’s 800. The 17 year old finished in 8:55.48. Fast’s Cathryn Salladin (9:00.67) and Emily Niles of Clovis Swim Club’s (9:03.63) finished second and third.

Clovis’ Tom Schab posted a 16:08.51 to win the men’s 1500. Covina Aquatics Association’s Danile Ilin touched in 16:14.19 for second and third went to Brea’s Tenney with a 16:26.22.

Brea’s Emily TrieuKelsey Lloyd, Margett, and Liu combined for a 4:16.46 to win the women’s 400 medley relay. De Anza Cupertino took the men’s title in 3:52.15 with the team of Fleming, Darren Chan Chin WahFelix Chiun, and Anthony Casaccia.
