Katinka Hosszu, David Plummer Heading To Belgium This Weekend

ANTWERP, Belgium, January 21. THIS weekend, the Flanders Speedo Cup professional meet takes place again in Antwerp, Belgium, where the likes of FINA World Cup Queen Katinka Hosszu and American backstroke star David Plummer are slated to compete for cash and prizes.

Additionally, notable names like Kim Vandenberg, Robbie Renwick, Fan Halsall and Hannah Miley are scheduled to make an appearance as swimmers vie for some serious cash earnings during the two-day event being held Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

Overall, the top five male and female swimmers of the meet, based on FINA points, will be awarded 2000, 1500, 1000, 500 and 250 Euros. Additionally, each race also has prize money attached to the results with 250 for first, 100 for second and 50 for third in what could be a lucrative weekend for a multi-event star like Hosszu.

Hosszu definitely has her work cut out for her as head coach Shane Tusup entered her into 16 events according to the start lists. Plummer, meanwhile, is more focused on just two backstroke events.

The rest of Tusup’s crew are also swimming Hosszuesque schedules with David Foldhazi entered in 15 separate events during the two-day competition.
