Speedo Performance of the Week Presented by Pace Club: Katie Ledecky Again!

Katie Ledecky

PHOENIX, Arizona, August 26. THE Pan Pacific Championships has concluded in Australia and this meet was the site of our Performance of the Week. Everyone has wondered how much faster can Katie Ledecky go. Let’s focus on the mile. She opted out of swimming the 1500 at the USA Swimming Nationals. The last time she swum the event was at a small meet in Texas where she shockingly broke the world record. Well she went after it again in Australia and lowered her mark another 6 seconds to a 15:28.36. Not only was this a new world record, but she obliterated the previous meet record by nearly 30 seconds. The 17-year-old closed with a sub –minute hundred to also finish about 30 seconds in front of second place. Katie Ledecky, congratulations on being our Speedo Performance of the Week.
