Katie Hoff Wins Trio of Events at Gulliver Last Chance Meet

MIAMI, Florida, February 16. OLYMPIC silver medalist Katie Hoff continues to keep a low profile as she gets back into the water with Hurricane Aquatics following some time off to focus on her academic career.

This weekend, while most of the rest of the Olympians that happened to be in competition were in Orlando, Hoff swam three hours south in Miami at the Gulliver Last Chance meet in a yards competition.

She wound up easily winning the 200-yard free (1:44.16), 100-yard breast (1:01.88) and 200-yard IM (1:55.91).

Those are some pretty strong times for Hoff overall. Her 200 free is only a second off her lifetime best of 1:43.10 set at the 2007 NBAC Christmas meet, while she just missed her 100 breast personal best of 1:01.44 set at the 2012 FGC Senior championships. She still has some time to make up in the IM, however, as her best effort is a 1:53.77 also from the 2007 NBAC Christmas meet.

In case you forgot, the 2007 NBAC meet is the place where she had stunned the swimming community with an American record time of 15:24.35 that stood until Katie Ledecky smashed that time with a jaw-dropping a 15:15.17 in Knoxville in December of last year.
