Joseph Schooling, Tao Li Named Singapore Swimmers of the Year

SINGAPORE, January 18. AT an awards ceremony Saturday night, Joseph Schooling and Tao Li were named the Singapore Swimming Association’s Male and Female Swimmers of the Year for 2013 according to the Straits Times.

Schooling’s mother, May, received the award for Schooling, who is his final year of study at the Bolles School in Florida, while Singapore swimmer Amanda Lim accepted for Tao as she was out of the country as well.

Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth Deputy Secretary Hugh Lim presided over the SSA Awards & Appreciate Night.

Schooling had an impressive outing at the SEA Games with five gold medals and a silver, while Tao showed some strength during the FINA World Cup circuit this year.
