Jennifer Fenton-Cournoyer Promoted to Associate Head Coach at Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vermont, September 16. UNIVERSITY of Vermont swimming and diving assistant coach Jennifer Fenton-Cournoyer has been promoted to associate head coach. Associate Vice President & Director of Athletics Dr. Robert Corran made the announcement today.

The 2010-11 season will mark the eighth at Vermont for Fenton-Cournoyer at UVM after being hired in August of 2004. A 1995 graduate of Bloomsburg University, she started off as a volunteer assistant coach at Vermont in August of 2003. Before that, she was head coach of women's swimming at Lock Haven University, where she also previously served as an assistant coach. Fenton-Cournoyer also was head coach of the men's and women's swimming team at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Penn. in 1997-98.

"This is a well deserved promotion for Jennifer. She has been a key contributor to the success of our program during her time here," said head coach Gerry Cournoyer.

Vermont opens the season on October 8, when the Catamounts travel to face Army in a meet with Boston College and Stony Brook starting at 5 p.m.
