Jeanette Ottesen Pops 2nd-Fastest 100 Fly in World

Jeanette Ottesen leapfrogged Emma McKeon into second in the world in the women’s 100-meter fly at the Danish Open today.

Ottesen clocked a top time of 57.23 tonight, moving her up from a third-ranked 58.03 to second ahead of McKeon’s 57.76 from the NSW State Championships.  Only Sarah Sjostrom has been faster with a 56.58 from the Marseilles stop of the Golden Tour.

Louise Hansson placed second tonight in the 100 fly with a 58.81, while Maria Ugolkova earned third in 59.75.

Hansson then won the women’s 200-meter IM with a 2:12.72 to move to ninth in the world rankings.  Barbora Zavadova (2:13.88) and Alicja Tchorz (2:16.46) took second and third.

Pawel Korzeniowski moved up to 10th in the world rankings in the men’s 100-meter fly with a first-place 52.42.  Viktor Bromer took second in 52.72 with Jan Sefl earning third in 53.70.

Mads Glaesner clocked a 3:49.94 to win the men’s 400-meter freestyle tonight, while Pal Joensen managed to take second in 3:51.32.  Wojciech Wojdak placed third in 3:57.02.

Maj Howardsen claimed the women’s 400-meter free title in 4:17.33.  Anina Nicole Lund (4:18.13) and Julie Aglund Lauridsen (4:18.28) rounded out the top three.

Francois Heersbrandt took home the men’s 50-meter back title in 25.74 with Lavrans Solli placing second in 25.87.  Kevin Witt Christensen wound up third in 26.35.

Poland’s Alicja Tchorz touched in 29.12 to win the women’s 50-meter back as Julie Kepp Jensen placed second in 29.18.  Eyglo Osk Gustafsdottir snared third in 29.31.

Jan Switkowski won the men’s 200-meter IM in 2:03.93 with Marcin Suzin taking second in 2:04.44.  Samuel Tornqvist finished third in 2:07.73.
