AUSTIN – Jack Conger lit up the pool again, this time with a 100 fly/100 back double at the Big 12 Championships.

Men’s Meet

Will Licon threw down an NCAA A cut and meet record in the men’s 400-yard IM with a 3:41.88.  That swim cleared Bryan Collin’s meet mark of 3:42.86 from 2010.

John Martens of Texas took second overall in 3:42.82 with West Virginia’s Nate Carr closing out the top three in 3:45.90.

In an incredible 100-yard fly finale, two of the top 10 efforts ever went up on the board.  Texas’ Jack Conger became the third Longhorn ever to break 45 seconds with a 44.78 to win the finale. This, just days after breaking the American record in the 200 fly.

Joseph Schooling, who was the second to break 45 this morning with a 44.90, finished second in 44.81, while Texas’ Tripp Cooper also clocked an NCAA A cut with a 45.79.

Ian Crocker’s Texas and Big 12 record of 44.72 held up to the challenge at least this time around.  It could go down at NCAAs.

Schooling looked in control the whole way but somehow Conger got his hands on the wall first. Amazing swims by both guys!
