FAIRFAX, Virginia, December 12. JUST a day after Bolles' Ryan Murphy downed the U.S. National Age Group record in the 15-16 division of the 200-yard back at the U.S. Short Course Junior Nationals, Rockville-Montgomery's Jack Conger, 16, took the time even lower.

Last night, Murphy, 15, clocked a 1:43.48 for second place to Corvallis' Jacob Pebley (1:42.73) in the event. That swim beat Jared Markham's U.S. National Age Group record of 1:43.66 set earlier this year.

Conger, however, trumped Murphy this evening at the Speedo Tom Dolan Invitational in front of a worldwide audience on SwimmingWorld.TV. He raced to a sterling time of 1:43.16 to claim the National Age Group mark.
