Ivy Martin Among Big Ten Conference’s Top Swimmers and Divers of the Week

MADISON – Wisconsin senior Ivy Martin was named the Big Ten Conference’s Female Swimmer of the Week after her impressive performances in the tri-meet last weekend against Notre Dame and Indiana. Nate Savoy of Penn State nabbed the conference’s Male Swimmer of the Week, while Indiana’s Michael Hixon and Lacey Houser were named the divers of the week.

Mary Warren of Northwestern and Rutgers’ Addison Walkowiak were both named the Female Freshmen of the Week. Blake Pieroni of Indiana was picked as the Male Freshman of the Week.

Ivy Martin’s accomplishments

• Earned four first-place finishes and added a second-place tally in Wisconsin’s tri-dual meet against Notre Dame and Indiana
• Finished first in the 100 butterfly (53.50), 50 freestyle (22.27), 100 freestyle (49.60) and 200 medley relay (1:40.55)
• Collected a second-place finish in the 400 medley relay (3:43.01)
• Recorded NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 100 butterfly, 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle
• Earns her ninth career Swimmer of the Week award

Nate Savoy’s accomplishments

• Tallied five first-place finishes in Penn State’s dual meet against Yale
• Finished first in the 100 backstroke (48.65), 200 backstroke (1:47.08), 200 individual medley (1:50.51), 200 medley relay (1:29.60), 400 freestyle relay (2:58.98) and 200 freestyle relay (1:21.66)
• Earns his first Swimmer of the Week honor

Lacey Houser’s accomplishments

• Recorded a first-place finish in the three-meter diving event and collected a third-place tally in one-meter diving in Indiana’s tri-dual against Wisconsin and Notre Dame
• Collected 338.50 points in the three-meter event and 313.10 tallies in one-meter diving
• Secured two NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks
• Earns her first Diver of the Week award

Michael Hixon’s accomplishments

• Collected first-place finishes in the one-meter and three-meter diving events in Indiana’s tri-dual against Wisconsin and Notre Dame
• Scored 444.20 points on one-meter and 433.65 points in three-meter diving
• Tallied NCAA Zone Qualifying scores in both events
• Earns his fourth Diver of the Week honor

Mary Warren’s accomplishments

• Collected two first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (23.22) and 200 freestyle relay (1:31.07) in Northwestern’s dual meet win over Milwaukee
• Recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the lead-off leg of the 200 freestyle relay with her split of 22.87 seconds
• Earns her first Freshman of the Week award

Addison Walkowiak’s accomplishments

• Swept the springboard diving events in Rutgers’ dual meet against Penn State
• Finished first in both the one-meter (285.40) and three-meter diving events (321.50)
• Collected NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks in both events
• Earns her fourth Freshman of the Week award

Blake Pieroni’s accomplishments

• Collected five first-place finishes in Indiana’s tri-dual against Wisconsin and Notre Dame
• Finished first in the 100 freestyle (44.82), 200 freestyle (1:36.62), 200 freestyle relay (1:21.92), 400 medley relay (3:16.26) and 800 freestyle relay (6:34.47)
• Recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the 200 freestyle
• Earns his second Freshman of the Week honor
