INDIANAPOLIS, IN, December 22, 2004. THE IUPUI women's swimming and diving team got to open one of their Christmas presents early Tuesday afternoon by downing Mid-Con foe Valparaiso 129-101 in their last dual meet of 2004.

The school reported the teams were fairly even in individual wins, with IUPUI holding a slight 6-5 edge. However, the Jags won both relays and used their depth to pull out the win.

The 200 medley quartet of Kristen Krey (Decatur, Ind./Bellmont),Clare Helphinstine (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield), Kelly Miller (Aurora, Ohio/Twinsburg) and Lauren Heyde (Greenwood, Ind./Whiteland) opened up the meet with a win in a thrilling match-up. Amy Rowe (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central) and Allison Rober (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) finished second (26.08) and third (26.12), respectively. That put IUPUI ahead 39-33.

Ridenour completed her sweep of the diving events later in the program with a winning score of 180.98 points in the three-meter springboard.

After Miller won the 100 butterfly in a time of 1:00.50, Krey picked up her second individual win of the meet. She finished first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.86.
