Israeli Swimming Association Closes Offices

ISRAEL, October 22. RECENTLY, the Israeli Swimming Association has had to close its offices due to some political battles with the Israeli Independent Associations Authority.

The Authority has ruled that the ISA is not conducting itself properly according to Israeli bylaws, and therefore has forced the ISA to close its offices.

No Israeli funding institution will be allowed to transfer money to the ISA due to the ruling, and the ISA has ceased all operations.

The closing is likely to remain until at least Nov. 14, when the directorship of the ISA will meet to look into the situation.

The following is a translation of the announcement made by the ISA:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCMENT FROM ISRAEL SWIMMING ASSOCIATION (ISA)

The ISA Directorship would like to make it clear that the ISA offices are closed until further announcement. The first league competition is cancelled and so are all competitions timetable and training camps, to all National Teams, that were published at the beginning of the year.

A full review of ISA situation was given at the last general meeting and updates will be given at the next general meeting of ISA set for the 14.11.08.

Heads of clubs are requested to attend the meeting and to take part in the decisions that will be taken at this meeting.
