The International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) has completed another step in its ongoing merger with Swimming World Magazine.  Bill Kent, ISHOF Board Chairman and Brent Rutemiller, Publisher of Swimming World’s multi-media platforms, signed an agreement that transfers Swimming World stock to a newly created ISHOF holding company.  Rutemiller was hired to lead ISHOF and oversee the merger as ISHOF’s Chief Executive Officer last November.

The merger is ongoing and the stock transfer is just a formality that was timed to be completed after the City of Fort Lauderdale approved $27 million to renovation the Aquatic Complex and signed a 30-year lease for ISHOF to remain in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Our goal is to use Swimming World media properties to promote all aquatic sports and generate more income for ISHOF by converting Swimming World subscriptions into ISHOF memberships and Swimming World advertisers in ISHOF sponsors.  It is a unique marriage, but one that we are committed to making a model of how media platforms can be used to promote an institution as important as the International Swimming Hall of Fame,” said Rutemiller.

Over the next few month viewers will slowly see the merging of websites, logos, and newsletters that furthers the combined mission.
