Iowa State Claims Swimming World Media Guide Cover of the Year Award

PHOENIX, Arizona, May 1. AFTER a weeklong battle for media guide cover supremacy, the Iowa State Cyclones emerged the winner of Swimming World's Media Guide Cover of the Year award.

The last two years, Swimming World selected the overall winner during internal balloting by its staff. This year, we included our users in the process.

After Swimming World's staff selected the top five finalists, the covers of Arizona, Clemson, Iowa State, Tennessee and Texas A&M were posted on our home page at SwimmingWorldMagazine.com as part of a polling process.

The polling ran from April 22-30 with Iowa State coming out on top with 37.86 percent of the voting. Tennessee claimed runner-up honors with 27.54 percent, while Clemson (18.33 percent), Texas A&M (9.46 percent) and Arizona (6.81 percent) rounded out the top five.

The Iowa State media guide cover was designed by Iowa State athletics department graphic designer Paul Meenan.

Congratulations to all the finalists, and also to our users for showing up in huge numbers to show support for the great promotional work done by these designers.

Previous winners were Texas A&M (2007) and Florida (2008).
