IOC Wants Sydney To Solve Transportation Problems

From Reuters: Olympic inspectors said that transportation at the 2000 Sydney Olympics would be a major obstacle for its organizers, but they were confident that they could avoid the kind of problems seen in Atlanta.

Members of the International Olympic Committee Coordination Commission said they were satisified with preparations so far. Unfortunately, Commission chairman Jacques Rogge listed various problems, including transportation, accommodation, and even the possibility that indigenous Aborigines and other ethnic minorities might try to “take the Games hostage.” “It’s not a honeymoon, but the problems we’ve analysed can all be overcome,” Rogge said.
