Industry News: TYR and FAST’s Sean Hutchison Extend Successful Partnership

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, November 17. TYR Sport, Inc. and Sean Hutchison, coach of FAST's U.S. Olympic Professional and Post-Graduate team, announced a long-term extension of their successful partnership through 2013. Hutchison – the 2008 Olympic Games Assistant Coach – will continue to wear TYR while coaching at FAST and acting as general manager of KING Aquatics in domestic and international competition.

"Sean is developing some of the best athletes this sport has ever had," said Matt Zimmer, TYR's Team Sales and Promotions Director. "His drive to take his athletes to a new level along with his innovative coaching methods are something that TYR aims to foster."

Hutchison has been selected to coach a USA national team every year since 2005. In 2008, he was a member of the coaching staff for the U.S. at the Olympic Games in Beijing, where two of his own swimmers earned four medals total. Hutchison landed his first head coaching position for Team USA's women at the 2009 World Championships in Rome, Italy. Under his guidance, the squad captured two Gold, three Silver, and four Bronze Medals.

Prior to joining FAST as the elite post-graduate training center coach, Hutchison lead KING Aquatics to 13 consecutive Pacific-Northwest Swimming Championship titles. USA Swimming has named the program a Gold Medal Team in the National Excellence Club since 2005. In 2008, KING's women's team won their first USA Swimming Short Course National Championship title.

"I extended my relationship with TYR because of two key reasons: great products and great people. TYR has supported me through all of my professional endeavors and I am confident they will do so through the 2012 Olympic Games," stated Hutchison. "TYR likes to ‘Keep it in the Family.' Within the last year, they have signed two of my long-time world-class swimmers: world record holder Ariana Kukors (FAST swimmer and KING alum) and two-time Olympian Megan Jendrick (KING swimmer)."

TYR, the premier American swim brand, strengthens its relationship in the swim industry by supporting many of the sport's most successful athletes, coaches and clubs. This includes two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Matt Grevers, along with Bill Rose, head coach of the Mission Viejo Nadadores and national team coach, and University of Texas' Kim Brackin.
