Industry News: Linnea Mack Sets Pacific Swimming Record

CLOVIS, California, March 9. LINNEA Mack, a 14 year old young lady swimming for Osprey Aquatics, set a new Pacific Swimming record in the 100 back on Sunday at the Juanita Allington Memorial Sr. Meet in Clovis CA. Linnea's winning time of 55.10 broke the old record of 55.24 set by the great Natalie Coughlin in 1996. The swim also qualifies Linnea for senior nationals. Linnea is coached by Brian Bolster, who started the program.

"Linny did an excellent job putting the different elements of her race plan together. She is very fast underwater," said Brian. "We combine unassisted underwater dolphin with the use of several types of fins for her underwater work in practice. Linny understands the importance of what we're doing, and makes it count, both in practice and her races. She swam about 47 yards of that race underwater, and I think that was the difference for her."

Linnea was joined by teammates Catherine Ladd, Miranda Carter and Rachel Owen in breaking another Pacific record in the 13-14 girls 400 free relay. The Osprey quartet swam to a first place finish in 3:32.87 to break the old record of 3:33.90.

Press Release provided by Finis. Osprey Aquatics has been a FINIS team since their inception in the fall of 1996 and use Blue Zoomers, Z2's in their workouts.
