FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, April 2. THE International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) will host its 38th Annual Diving Extravaganza this year from May 8-11. The event will include the AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix.
This Olympic preview event will feature the top Olympic divers in the world, including gold medalists, world champions and Olympians from the USA, China, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, Italy and many more.
The Diving Extravaganza will also feature comedy diving exhibitions and a "Dreaming of Beijing" Asian Cultural Festival, with demonstrations of Asian cooking, martial arts, music, dancing and singing – and a special appearance by the Beijing 2008 Olympic mascots.
On Saturday night, ISHOF will honor Norma Jean (and Bob posthumously) Maxwell a lifetime achievement award for their contributions to the promotion of diving. The clown diving symposium, organized by ISHOF, is intended to bring together some of the greatest living names in comedy and water show diving in the world to develop a plan to revive this lost art as a means to promote greater awareness and interest in Olympic diving. It should be a great, great weekend to be a diver.
