Indiana Men and Women Sweep Evansville

BLOOMINGTON, IN, October 16. INDIANA University picked up a pair of dual meet wins Friday against the University of Evansville Aces.

The men’s tally was 160-87, with the Hoosiers winning all but three events; on the women’s side they swept all 14 events, winning 169-85.

Kristen Bradley, Sarah Bugden, Leila Vaziri and Annica Lofstedt were all triple winners for head coach Dorsey Tierney’s charges. Freshmen men Ben Hesan and Nick Walkotten were each double winners for coach Ray Looze.

Tierney was happy with her team’s preparation. “We are learning how to train like a championship team every day and that is good to see. We are also racing better when we are tired. Annica did a great job of finishing her races, while Lauren Torpey is getting back into form. She stayed disciplined over the summer and is moving forward through some difficult times.”

Looze said his guys were trying some off events in the meet. “We had a chance to demonstrate some team spirit in front of our parents. Evansville was a good opponent, and I am thankful that they came up to race us.”
