SYDNEY, Australia, October 19. Sydney Kwok, a World Junior Championship team member for Hong Kong who is based in Sydney, Australia, decided to compete for the UCLA Bruins collegiately as part of the Class of 2015.

“I chose UCLA because it has a great balance of sport and academics, the school has the most beautiful campus and has a very diverse range of students, not to mention the dream location and the great weather!” Kwok told Swimming World.

Kwok, who trains at the Cranbrook Eastern Edge Swim Club, is part of a growing class at UCLA that should make an immediate impact next year.  Kwok swam for Hong Kong at the 2013 World Junior Championships, finishing 14th in the 50-meter backstroke.

Her top times in long course competition are a 29.01 in the 50-meter back, a 1:03.69 in the 100-meter back and a 2:18.12 in the 200-meter back.  She also has some freestyle ability with a 26.95 in the 50-meter free, a 57.63 in the 100-meter free and a 2:06.23 in the 200-meter free.
