Hoff, Kalisz Close Out North Baltimore Long Course Championships With Victories

BALTIMORE, Maryland, USA, June 14. FOR the third consecutive day, Katie Hoff enjoyed a strong showing at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club Long Course Championships. A month removed from the start of the World Championships in Montreal, the NBAC standout appears to be rounding into form.

Qualified for the World Champs in a trio of events, Hoff won the 200-meter butterfly on Monday, posting a time of 2:12.58. Hoff finished ahead of teammate Courtney Kalisz, who touched the wall in 2:15.68. Hoff actually went faster during the morning preliminaries, where she registered a mark of 2:12.52. Hoff will swim the 200 freestyle and both individual medley events in Montreal.

Hoff also contested the prelims of the 100 freestyle, but scratched out of the evening final. During the morning session, Hoff covered the 100 free in 56.67. Kalisz, meanwhile, was the victor in the 100 backstroke, thanks to a time of 2:16.86.
