Grand Prix Series Set to Resume

ANN ARBOR, Michigan, April 24. JUST because the World Championships are in the rearview mirror, that doesn't mean that the swimming world will be void of quality competition in the coming months. Not with the USA Swimming Grand Prix Series set to resume in less than a month at the University of Michigan's Canham Natatorium.

The Eric Namesnik Memorial Grand Prix will begin May 17 and is named for the United States Olympian who lost his life last year after an automobile accident. With the meet in Ann Arbor, Mich., expect the Club Wolverine crew, led by Michael Phelps, to headline the field. A few weeks later, the Charlotte UltraSwim will begin June 7, followed by the Santa Clara Invitational (June 28) and the Janet Evans Invitational (July 12).
