SAVANNAH, Georgia, October 6. Darby Wayner, the fifth-ranked swimmer in the State of Georgia by CollegeSwimming.com, is headed to Utah after committing to head coach Joe Dykstra tonight.

Wayner, a Winter Junior Nationals qualifier, trains under head coach Bill Forrester at Georgia Coastal Aquatics in Savannah.

“I could not be happier to verbally commit to swim for the University of Utah,” Wayner told Swimming World. “I loved everything about the school, but more importantly the people there really made the difference. Everyone was so welcoming and I felt at home. I can’t wait to be a Ute!!”

This Scholastic All-American is a jack of all trades with ability in a bunch of places.  She has a 23.59 in the 50-yard free as well as a 1:04.22 in the 100-yard breast and a 2:04.52 in the 200-yard IM.

In long course competition, Wayner owns a 26.77 in the 50-meter free and a 2:21.55 in the 200-meter IM.

She’s not just a one-meet wonder either as her top times have all come from various meets, including sectionals in July as well as the NCSA Junior Nationals in 2013.
