Gary Hall, Jr. Obtains Court Order

Just two days before he was scheduled to compete at the World Cup meet in College Station, Texas, Gary Hall, Jr. was notified by FINA that his suspension for testing positive for marijuana was not due to expire until Dec. 12. This would have meant that Hall would not have been able to compete at either the World Cup meet or the U.S. Open, scheduled for Dec. 3-5 at College Station. Through his attorneys, Hall was able to obtain a court order which allowed him to compete pending a hearing. He was required to post a $10,000 bond. Hall took it in good stride, commenting that it was “the most expensive meet entry fee I’ve ever paid.”
