French Grand Prix, Bordeaux: Pair of Meet Records Fall

BORDEAUX, France, February 6. AT the French Grand Prix held in Bordeaux, a pair of meet records took a tumble during the first night of long course meter competition.

Michael Jamieson clocked a meet-record time of 4:27.19 to win the men's 400 IM. Nicolas Rostoucher finished second in 4:29.63, while Antton Haramboure placed third in 4:35.35.

Ireland's Grainne Murphy downed the other meet record with a time of 4:49.65 in the women's 400 IM. Eva Berglund took second in 4:52.68, while Alena Alekseeva finished third in 4:55.31.

Romain Beraud topped the men's 1500 free timed finals with a winning effort of 15:36.92, while Damien Cattin Vidal and Xavier LePretre tied for second with matching times of 15:40.83.

In the women's distance event, Camelia Potec crushed the competition in the women's 800 free with a time of 8:31.02. Margaux Fabre placed second in 8:45.33, while Murphy touched third in 8:51.31.
