Franziska Van Almsick Takes Shot at German Swimming Federation

BERLIN, Germany, April 25. IN a recent interview with the German magazine Sport-Bild, Olympian Franziska Van Almsick weighed in with her thoughts on Germany's lack of success at the World Championships held in Melbourne, Australia.

"Nobody should be surprised at the results in Melbourne and there will not be an improvement unless the swimming federation starts acting more professionally," Van Almsick told Sport-Bild. "They should listen to someone who has swam many times for the federation and I have always said I am ready to talk, if anyone asks for my help, I'll be there."

Independent Online posted a story today with English coverage of the Sport-Bild article, while the German piece can be seen here.
