Fourth Day Concludes at USA Swimming Spring Championships

EAST MEADOW, New York, March 30. THE fourth day of competition concluded at the USA Swimming Spring Championships in East Meadow, N.Y.

Women's 100 backstroke
Jacque Fessel picked up the 100 backstroke title in 1:02.24, knocking off Lauren English (1:03.23) and Elizabeth Pelton (1:03.33) in the process.

Men's 100 backstroke
David Cromwell found victory again with a time of 55.12, while Adam Mania (55.74) and Tim Liebhold (56.40) took second and third, respectively.

Women's 400 freestyle
Alyssa Anderson continued a great meet with a win in the 400 free in 4:14.74. Corinne Showalter placed second in 4:16.52, while Teresa Crippen finished third in 4:16.89.

Men's 400 freestyle
Robert Margalis hit the wall in 3:52.78 for the win, while Fran Crippen took second in 3:54.19 and Chad La Tourette placed third in 3:54.84.

Women's 100 breaststroke
Michelle McKeehan snagged the 100 breast title in 1:08.93, while Keri Hehn finished second in 1:09.45 and Lindsay Rogers took third in 1:11.47.

Men's 100 breaststroke
Cheyne Bloch touched first in 1:03.17, just ahead of Kevin Swander's second-place time of 1:03.30. Neil Versfeld wound up third in 1:03.74.

Women's 100 butterfly
Felicia Lee led a pair of sub-minute efforts with a time of 59.82, while Samantha Woodward snared second in 59.84 in a close battle. Kathleen Hersey rounded out the podium in 1:00.76.

Kyle Bubolz owned the 100 fly with a time of 53.08, while Peter Verhoef (53.62) and Christoph Lubenau (54.39) placed second and third, respectively.

Club Wolverine's team of Adrienne Woods (58.05), Liz Koselka (57.28), Kristyne Cole (58.69) and Allison Schmitt (56.60) won in 3:50.62.

LSU's foursome of Christoph Lebenau (52.85), Julius Gloeckner (51.60), Sean Leneave (52.58) and Miko Malberg (51.52) touched first in 3:28.55.
