AAAA Meet Records
Overall, nine meet records fell during the AAAA competition with five on the boys side and four on the girls.

The Spartanburg boys quartet of Antoine Connors, Drew Oberg, David Ingraham and Semmes Gilmore started the ball rolling by stopping the clock in 1:39.18 in the 200-yard medley relay. That effort eclipsed the previous record of 1:40.50 set by Wando High in 2003. Additionally, the Fort Mill team of Jordan Berry, Lucas Hawes, Justin Ashcraft and Evan Ashcraft took second in a time of 1:39.83, which also went under the previous standard.

Justin Ashcraft grabbed sole possession of a meet record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:44.61 to touch out Mac Montgomery's second-place time of 1:44.70. Both surpassed the previous record of 1:45.08 set by Mauldin High's Taylor Tompson in 2002. He kept rolling in the 500-yard free with another meet-record time of 4:37.91 to take down the 4:39.31 previous set by J.L. Mann High's Bobby Nitto in 2003.

The girls picked up another championship record when Katy Motsinger blazed to a time of 23.63 in the 50-yard free to capture the state title. The swim beat the previous record of 23.79 set by Eastside High's Austin Carter in 2004.

Fort Mill's contingent of Kati Morris, Holly Hirsch, Brittany Miller and Sarah Bartlett broke the 200-yard freestyle relay record with a 1:41.33 to win the state title. The performance erased the 1:41.56 previously set by Riverside High in 2003.

The boys followed suit in their 200 free relay when Dorman's squad of Corey Rogers, James Weber, Marcus Elliott and John Connell smashed the meet record of 1:30.56 held by Lexington High since 2001. The Dorman relay cruised to a time of 1:28.16.

Motsinger grabbed her second meet standard with a win in the 100-yard back. She clocked a 57.57 to eclipse the 57.96 set by J.L. Mann High's Lauren Groblewski in 2003.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, a pair of girls surpassed the previous standard of 1:07.82 set by Samantha Lyon of Newberry High in 2000. Although Cameron Force touched in 1:07.74, Elizabeth Savage destroyed the record with a 1:06.76 to win the event crown.

The final AAAA meet record fell in the 400-yard free relay when the boys of Spartanburg demolished another standard. Ingraham, Connors, Gilmore and Oberg rocketed to a 3:13.83 to squash the previous record of 3:20.04 set by Wando High in 2003. Meanwhile, Fort Mill finished second with another time under a meet record with a 3:15.43 by Justin Ashcraft, Hawes, Alex Carr and Berry.
