Last time I checked 18.64 – 17.63 = 1.01. 1.01 is more than a second, not almlst a second.

What is also amazing is Florida would be 2 seconds faster in the 400 MR if he swam breaststroke instead of freestyle. Their breaststroker did 53.01 in prelims, Caeleb might do 49.1 in a relay.

What’s he the 100 free? I want Rowdy to drop his jaw does mid 39

I’d say breaking a 39 is entirely possible!

Phil Mitchell

Current world record in the 50 meter freestyle is 20.91 by Cesar Cielo. The time Dressel just went when converting to meters is 19.29. Think about that for a moment. He won the event by 1.01 seconds tonight. Just wait until he blasts a 39.3 in the 100 free.

Yeah but cielo was 18.4 then 20.9 a few years later. 17.63 realistically converts to more like a 20.2ish, in a few years if he continues to improve like cielo did.

The faster the times the less accurate the conversion

True I was giving a comparison. I do think Dressel could push 20.0 plus he won’t have the turn so that will slow him down.

This stud, if allowed to enter more events and if there were enough time to recover after his events, could win: 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 fly, 200 IM, 100 breast and 200 IM. He is simply the greatest swimmer at yards ever.

I notice his coach had him swim the breast leg on the 400 MR, he had a good split, but was out of it as their man had the slowest split of all the backstrokers
