Florida Sprinter Lyndsey Huizenga Sends Verbal Commitment to Tennessee

NEW COMMIT: Windermere, Florida’s Lyndsey Huizenga has verbally committed to swim for the University of Tennessee as a member of the Class of 2023. She’ll arrive in Knoxville in 2019 along with Kenna Haney.

Her best times include:

  • 50 Free 23.44
  • 100 Free 52.56
  • 50 Breast 30.81
  • 50 Fly 26.60

Huizenga was fifth in the 50 free at the 2017 Florida 1A High School state championships at the start of her junior year at Windermere Preparatory School. She does her club swimming with the Windermere Lakers.

At Tennessee Huizenga will join a sprint freestyle group that will still include SEC 50 and 100 freestyle champion Erika Brown, who will be a senior. Fifty freestyle SEC A finalist Bailey Grinter will overlap with Huizenga for two years as will C finalist Megan Sichterman. B finalist in the 50 and 100 free Stanzi Mosley will be in her final year as a Lady Vol. It took a 22.77 to score in the 50 free at SECs this year, a mark Huizenga is closing in on. It took a 49 second swim to land in the C final of the 100 free.
