Florida 2A High School State Championships

ORLANDO, Florida, November 15. THREE teams went head-to-head at the Florida Girls 2A High School State Championships. Eastside claimed the state title with 160 points followed closely by Chiles (152) and Bishop Kenny (147). On the boys' side, Belen Jesuit Prep won the state title with 266.5 points while Fort Myers took second (176) and Bishop Kenny placed third (114).

Girls Results
Carolyn Anderson, Lydia Ware, Heather Coutts, and Michelle Craddock (Bishop Kenny) won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:49.88. Coutts was a dual event winner in the 100 butterfly (56.31) and the 100 backstroke (57.29).

Lincoln's Alex Merritt and Estero's Molly Dubrasky tied for first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.70. Merritt won the 100 freestyle (50.82) and Dubrasky won the 500 freestyle (4:50.94) as well.

Eastside won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:38.05. Danielle Kerr, Hannah Bunkin, Monica Petrella, and Christine Kerr contributed to the win.

Sophomore Delaney Dye (Leon) won the diving competition with a score of 482.40. Other top finishers include Ponte Vedra's Shannon Thompson (457.10) and Olivia Smith of Chiles (424.60).

Kathryn Clare-Salzler teamed up with D. Kerr, Bunkin, and C. Kerr for a first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:34.03).

Boys Results
Seniors Robert Swanbeck, Josh Anderson, Tyler Wilson, and Jon Nunez (Fort Myers) won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:36.91. Nunez was a dual event winner in the 50 (20.84) and 100 (45.55) freestyles.

Belen Jesuit's Andy Vazquez had individual wins in the 200 freestyle (1:40.91) and the 100 butterfly (50.43).

Luke Zippi of Viera won the diving competition with a score of 527.90. Brandon Haupt (Washington) and Doug Knox (Lely) followed with scores of 404.65 and 404.25 respectively.

Vazquez teamed up with Diguan Pigot, Matthew Long, and Paul Grenet in the 200 freestyle relay. The group clocked a time of 1:27.74 for a first-place finish.

Carlos Omana (Belen Jesuit) won the 200 IM (1:49.82) and the 500 freestyle (4:26.25). He joined Vazquez, Julian Ballestas, and Long for a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:10.02).
