Flash! Jason Lezak Breaks American Record in 100 Meter Freestyle in Semi-Final

Long Beach, CA, July 10 – JASON Lezak, Novaquatics, swam an American record time of :48.17 in the second semi-final of the 100 Freestyle at the USA Olympic Team Trials. He split :23.02 on his way to breaking Anthony Ervin's :48.33 mark from the 2001 FINA World Championships in Japan.

Lezak finished over a second ahead of Ian Crocker, Texas, at :49.29 and Gary Hall, California Aquatics, who won the first semi-final at :49.30.
