Five-Star Matt Houser Makes College Commitment

GREENVILLE, North Carolina, October 21. RECENTLY, Swimming World five-star prospect Matt Houser ended his recruitment with a verbal commitment.

Mark Bernardino of Virginia collected the pledge from Houser, who swims for the Greenville Swim Club and preps at JH Rose High.

"I knew ever since my trip that the other schools I was looking at were going to have a hard time beating my experience at Virginia, and I was right," Houser told Swimming World. "The schools I looked at were great schools, and I had a great time but I knew I was destined to be a Wahoo. I'm really looking forward to these next four years."

Houser has U.S. Olympic Trials cuts in the 200-meter fly (2:03.94), 200-meter IM (2:05.27) and 400-meter IM (4:28.16). He is the first public pledge to the Virginia men's team.
