Five-Star Haley Spencer Heading to Midwest

O'FALLON, Missouri, November 3. SWIMMING World five-star recruit Haley Spencer, who swims for the Rockwood Swim Club and preps at Fort Zumwault West, is headed north for her collegiate years.

Spencer, who already has U.S. Olympic Trials cuts in the 100-meter breast (1:10.56), 200-meter breast (2:31.23) and 400-meter IM (4:55.03), has committed to the University of Minnesota. Spencer also has NCAA Division I qualifying marks in the 100-yard breast (1:01.76) and 200-yard breast (2:14.09).

"I chose the University of Minnesota because it was everything I was looking for in a college," Spencer told Swimming World. "I wanted a strong athletic program as well as a strong academic program that would help me achieve my goals both in and out of the pool. Coach Kremer's enthusiasm about his team and his school convinced me that the University of Minnesota is where I would excel."

Spencer joins fellow five-star prospect Paige Bradley as the two public pledges for the Minnesota women's team.
