Five-Star Alex Lendrum Commits

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 30. IT didn't take long for Swimming World five-star recruit Alex Lendrum to make his collegiate decision, doing so earlier than his self-imposed desire to wait until after the Arizona 5A High School State Championships taking place Nov. 7-8.

Lendrum's family won't have far to travel to see him, as he is heading to Los Angeles to swim for Dave Salo at the University of Southern California. Lendrum, who swims for Dave Gibson of the Brophy East Swim Team and attends Brophy College Prep, owns U.S. Olympic Trials cuts in the 200-meter back (2:04.29) and 400-meter IM (4:29.09).

"Although it was my plan to make a commitment after Arizona 5A High School Championships, which is Nov. 7-8, I accepted an offer from Dave Salo at USC yesterday to become a Trojan," Lendrum told Swimming World. "I'm really excited about being a part of the team Dave Salo is building at USC. I believe I can be an impact swimmer there, and really contribute to a team that will be vying for a national championship in the future."

Lendrum, who was previously featured by Swimming World in its College Recruit Rankings Profile series, is the first public commit to the USC men's program.
