FISU Names Bill Wadley Technical Swimming Chair; Open Water Added to World University Games

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, February 10. RECENTLY, the USA Swimming Board of Directors endorsed Bill Wadley's nomination to become the FISU Technical Swimming Chair. FISU is the International University Sports Federation, and is the key organizing unit for the World University Games. Wadley replaces Wayne Burrow, who resigned in November. Wadley will begin his term immediately as the Interim chair. However, he is the only nominee and will be named the permanent chair at the May 2010 FISU meeting.

"Bill will be an excellent candidate for this position and will do a great job," USA Swimming president Jim Wood said.

Additional information also has the World University Games adding a 10K open water event to take place at the 2011 Universiade.
