FINA Announces Seven Bid Cities for 2012 World Short Course Championships

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, October 16. FINA announced today the seven cities that will be bidding for the World Short Course Championships to be held in 2012.

Durban, South Africa; Hong Kong; Istanbul, Turkey; Mar del Plata, Argentina; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Sydney, Australia; and Vienna, Austria each are in the running to host the meet.

FINA will host an informational meeting on Nov. 30 for representatives of these cites, before accept final bids on Jan. 28, 2008. FINA will then decide who will host during the 2008 World Short Course Championships to be held in Manchester, England from April 9-13.
