Executive Director Kazuo Sano Elected at President of Japanese Swimming Federation

TOKYO, Japan, February 17. KAZUO Sano, the current executive director of the Japanese Swimming Federation, has been named as the organization's next president as well.

During its general assembly, a board meeting decided that Sano would take over the presidency of the federation heading into the next two years.

Sano, 68, has been the executive director of the federation since 2003 and will begin his two-year term as the president beginning April 1.

Sano most recently presided over the elimination of suit restrictions for Japan's athletes heading into the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
