EXCLUSIVE! Ben Michaelson’s Pan Am Diary: Game Face

ATHLETES' VILLAGE, Santo Domingo, August 10. IT'S the last day of preparations, and I've already swum my single workout. Now its time to rest up, shave down, and put our game faces on.

This is the most anxious day of the summer. My swim is on Day Two of the meet, so I'll be able to watch one day and see how things run. There's really nothing left to do except rest, and nothing left to say except we've preparerd to the best of our ability. Starting tomorrow, Team USA is going to lay it all on the line and undoubtedly turn in some very fast swims.

Once the meet gets going, I'll do my best to let you all know how things are going, but swimming and resting will be my top priorities, of course. As my
former club coach would say before the big meet –"The hay is in the barn!"

Talk to you all again soon…

Ben
