European Championships: Italy’s Tania Cagnotto Claims Women’s One-Meter

BUDAPEST, Hungary, August 10. IN a battle that came down to the wire, Italy's Tania Cagnotto upended Sweden's Anna Lindberg for the women's one-meter diving title at the European Championships.

Cagnotto tallied 299.70 points for the victory, just six points ahead of Lindberg's total of 293.70 points.

Russia's Anastasia Pozdnyakova completed the podium with a bronze-winning 282.65, while Italy's Maria Marconi took fourth with 272.15 points.

Russia's Nadezda Bazhina (271.05), Germany's Katja Dieckow (264.40), Ukraine's Anna Pysmenska (264.40) and Germany's Uschi Freitag (254.95) finished fifth through eighth.
