Dynamo’s Caitlin Cooper Chooses Virginia

ATLANTA, Georgia, October 9. VIRGINIA’s Augie Busch is assembling a pretty solid first recruiting class with the Cavaliers. Tonight, he earned a commitment from Dynamo’s Caitlin Cooper.

Cooper, who is ranked 44th in the Class of 2014 by CollegeSwimming.com, is a sprint freestyler who will make a big impact on the Cavalier sprint group as well as relays.

She owns a 25.98 in the 50-meter free from the 2013 Speedo Junior Nationals as well as a 23.00 in the 50-yard freestyle from the Georgia State High School Championships and is one of the few Dynamo kids that decided to head away from the state instead of enrolling at the University of Georgia.

Cooper, who is ranked fourth in the State of Georgia in this class, also has a 50.15 in the 100-yard free as well as a 57.08 in the 100-meter free to her credit. Also from the Georgia high school meet and from junior nationals.

Cooper also can turn in sprint back and fly swims. She has a 1:04.49 in the 100-meter back and a 1:03.22 in the 100-meter fly as well as a 56.88 in the 100-yard backstroke events.

Cooper joins No. 36 Cece Williams as a pair of top 50 recruits headed to Virginia in the Class of 2014.
