Dynamo National Junior Teamer Knox Auerbach Selects Alabama

JOHNS CREEK, Georgia, September 24.  DYNAMO’s Knox Auerbach, a National Junior Teamer ranked 33rd in the Class of 2015 by CollegeSwimming.com, has elected to swim for the University of Alabama after his senior year at Northview High School.

Auerbach, ranked second in the State of Georgia behind Matt Bekemeyer, won a pair of state high school titles last year in the 200-yard free (1:37.86) and 500-yard free (4:33.55), but he is truly special in the long course meter department.

Auerbach has a pair of FINA power point +900 times in the 100 freestyle with a 50.45 in the 100-meter event at this summer’s Junior Nationals, as well as a 44.58 in the 100-yard free event at the NCSA Spring Championships back in March.  He also has a 909-rated 1:52.35 in the 200-meter free from Junior Nationals as well.

With that type of speed in the key freestyle events, Auerbach should have an immediate impact on Alabama’s roster in relays and in individual events.

Also, along with winning the 500 free at states last year, he has a 4:02.47 in the 400-meter freestyle so he can range up in the freestyle distances should Alabama need that type of versatility.
