Drew Kibler Adds NAG Record in 500 Free

One night after breaking the National Age Group record in the 15-16 boys’ 200 free, Carmel Swim Club’s Drew Kibler added another in the 500 free. At the Speedo Junior Nationals meet in Columbus, Ohio, he won the event in 4:15.36, breaking the previous mark of 4:16.43 set by Matthew Hirschberger last year.

Kibler’s splits:

1:15.48 (26.12), 1:41.77 (26.29),
2:07.84 (26.07), 2:33.73 (25.89),
2:59.34 (25.61), 3:25.32 (25.98),
3:50.93 (25.61), 4:15.36 (24.43)

Kibler was scheduled to be the top seed in the 50 free later in the session.
