Dennis Baker, Nick Brunelli Highlight Day Two of Swimming World Magazine Cactus Classic

TEMPE/SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, May 26. DENNIS Baker, who is 45 years old, provided the top crowd favorite performance during the second night of long course meter competition at the Swimming World Magazine Cactus Classic. Baker, who tripled the youngest competitor (Dakota Hodgson, 15) in the men's 200 butterfly, touched first in 2:08.44 for the title.

In the event, Baker tracked down Sun Devil Aquatics' Sean Boyle (2:08.74) down the stretch as Boyle was breathing to the side opposite of Baker. The wily vet used that to his advantage to overcome the hometown favorite.

Another fan favorite, Nick Brunelli, won the 50 free in 23.48, which cleared the Olympic Trial cut in the event.
