Want to receive next month’s print issue of Swimming World Magazine? Now is your chance! There are THREE DAYS LEFT to start your print subscription with the December issue! All December subscription orders head to the printer November 15th.

December’s strategy article is titled “Strategic Pacing in Distance Events.” Swimming World contributor Mike Stott gathers information and tips from several elite distance coaches, including Mission Viejo’s Bill Rose.

Here is one of Rose’s quotes from the Swimming World Magazine article:

I give swimmers sets that I say are impossible. It’s amazing what you can get when they say, ‘Well it’s OK to fail at this because it is an impossible set.’ And all of a sudden, they find themselves making it.

Also in December, Swimming World Magazine crowns the top Male and Female Swimmers of the Year from each world region (North and South America, Europe, Africa and Pacific Rim) and 2013’s overall Male and Female World Swimmers of the Year.

In 2012, Swimming World Magazine’s World Swimmer of the Year honors went to Michael Phelps and Missy Franklin. This year, things will be different, especially considering Phelps retired from swimming immediately following the 2012 London Olympic Games.
