Dartmouth Vs. Brown

BRISTOL, Rhode Island, November 17. THE Brown women's swimming and diving team (1-0, 1-0) opened its season with a dominating victory over Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon in a "home" meet at Roger Williams. The Bears won 13 of the 16 events and placed second in another two to cruise to the win. Brown spread the scoring out with three swimmers earning two wins and five other Bears earning one victory.

Bruno started off with four straight victories, grabbing first and second in three of those events. The 200 Medley Relay team of freshman Kelley Wisinger (Warren, NJ), sophomore Bailey Langner (Martinez, CA), sophomore Susannah Ford (Cambridge, MA), and freshman Sage Erskine (Arlington, VA) opened the meet with a time of 1:51.65 for first place. The team of senior Lauren Zatorski (Winnetka, IL), senior Ally Wyatt (Ypsilanti, MI), freshman Natascha Mangan (Keizer, OR), and freshman Candice Sisouvanvieng-Kim (Albuquerque, NM) followed with a time of 1:53.48.

The Bears also took 1-2 in the next event as junior Ainsley McFadgen (Glace Bay, NS) won the 1000 Free with a time of 10:28.18 and senior Dillon Delaney (West Barnstable, MA) took second with a time of 10:35.19.

Freshman Stephanie Pollard (Victoria, BC) led off with a victory in the 200 Free (1:54.55), while McFadgen took third with a time of 1:59.82. Erskine led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 Back with a time of 59.80 as Wisinger took second with a time of 1:01.40 and junior Sarah Goodman (Philadelphia, PA) finished in third with a time of 1:01.64.

Wyatt led the Bears in the 100 Breast, finishing in second with a time of 1:09.11, while Langer took third with a time of 1:09.46. The Bears then won the next seven events to take a commanding lead. Mangan earned a time of 2:07.23 in the 200 Fly, while Sisouvanvieng-Kim posted a time of 24.82 in the 50 Free. Pollard posted her second win of the day with a time of 54.08 in the 100 Free, while Wisinger earned first in the 200 Back with a time of 2:07.81. Langner then won the 200 Breast with a time of 2:27.90, while McFadgen picked up her second victory with a time of 5:10.61 in the 500 Free. Mangan capped the run of first place finishes with her second win of the afternoon in the 100 Fly (58.92).

Wisinger led Brown in the 200 IM, taking second with a time of 2:13.19 and the Bears closed the meet with a victory in the 400 Free Relay as the team of Erskine, McFadgen, Goodman, and Zatorski clocked in at 3:36.85.

In diving action, sophomore Katie Olko (Harrison, NY) took third in the 1-Meter with a score of 242.63, while junior Jessica Williams (McLean, VA) won the 3-Meter with a score of 251.39.

Brown continues action November 30 to December 2 when it competes in the Princeton Invitational. The Bears' dual meet against the Tigers will also take place over the weekend.
